Patient Group Survey results.
Thank you to all of our patients who responded to join the patient participation questionnaire and also who responded to us. Below is a report of our findings from our first patient participation group survey and our responses. Twenty Seven patients completed this survey.

We have looked at the survey results and propose the following actions to further improve our services.

Are you aware that we have an open appointment book, meaning you can book as far in advance as the doctors rota is on for a triage call?
From the responses we received to this question we found that 77.8% of patients were unaware that you can book a triage call as far in advance as the Doctors rota allows you too, this is something we are going to add to our patient leaflet so that all patients are aware of from now on. We have implemented online book ahead in 2013
If you attended the flu clinic did you agree that it was easy access, walk in is better than having an appointment or an appointment slot would be better?
Beacon Primary Care has decided that from the responses received we will continue with the walk in flu clinics on a Saturday, we have no reason to change a system that patients are happy with. And expanded them to 2 sites
What do you think of the confidentiality of our current reception desks at each site?
34.6% of responses agreed this needed improvement, from the ideas sent Beacon Primary Care will be looking into confidentiality at the reception desks and putting some improvements into place, we must also reiterate that if a patient needs a private word with a receptionist they are able to ask for somewhere more confidential to discuss the problem.
Do you think the new patient information leaflet gives enough information for patients?
Although two patients disagreed that the leaflet does not give enough information unfortunately no ideas for improvement were given to allow Beacon Primary Care to action this, if anyone has any suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Are you aware of the services the pharmacy has to offer?
Beacon Primary Care is surprised to hear that patients were unaware of the services the pharmacy can offer patients therefore we will be ensuring that we give the information leaflets out with all prescriptions to ensure that patients get the information.

We plan to begin implementing these changes from Tuesday 2nd April 2013.
